The process of SEO is not straight forward which is why you will never get a clear answer to this question. This is due to the unknown factor - The Search Engine itself. The Search Engine companies do not disclose how their Search Engines work and therefore it can be difficult to optimise. Many SEO methods have evolved from trial and error and discussions between webmasters in forums. Some of the common procedures include checking the coding of your website and building backlinks.

4. What is Onpage and Offpage SEO?
Onpage SEO is where your websites code is checked to ensure it complies with the Search engines Terms of Service. Also fixing any errors, increasing the load time/speed of site. Offpage is building links to your site. Not just backlinks but relationships with other elements on the web.

5. Why does my site show up as no.1 in Google, but if anyone else searches I can't be found?
You probably need to disable personalised search. Otherwise Google will serve you the results you most desire.

6. When will I see results?
It will take a while depending on what results you expect what for. Some keywords might even take a year or more while others may work after weeks or months. There are many factors to consider and you should really look at an absolute minimum of 3 months for any project.

7. I asked an SEO company to provides previous results/portfolio, however they said they can't because of client confidentiality.
This is a difficult area as many clients don't want their campaigns broadcasted, or even want people to know what company is undertaking the work for them. This however has bred a whole load of SEO script kiddies who have had no past results but use this excuse. If the SEO Company has been around long enough then they should have a few clients willing to be put into a portfolio.

8. Your an SEO Company - where are you in the Search Engines?
This is a good question. Although we have be around a long time this website has only been up a short time, however the astute amongst you will notice that the site is w3c valid and has a good onpage presence. We will over time do offpage optimisation, however our clients will always come first.
